Memorial Day Sales; Sustainable Style
When you’re embarking on a more sustainable and ethically made wardrobe, the idea of purchasing from sustainable brands can feel daunting for many reasons, but particularly due to cost. Well friends, if price tags have scared you in the past then a great time to try out an ethically made or sustainable brand, with less of a hit to your wallet, is holiday sale days. This post will focus on Memorial Day weekend sales of 2022.
BUT: Before you ‘hit Add to Cart’, remember to shop responsibly, which means…
A. Ensure you are purchasing something you will wear at least 10-20 times on average.
B. Shop secondhand first when possible.
C. Don’t purchase something JUST because it is on sale. Use these sales as an opportunity to invest, not go wild, because over consumption is not sustainable.

Who are they?
Pact Apparel is on a mission to make “Earth’s Favorite™ clothes”. Sustainable farming, water conservation, organic fabrics, chemical-free dyes, and Fair Trade certified factories are how Pact is protecting and positively impacting planet and people.
What I Love…
I love Pact for their basics! T-shirts, tanks, and undies are a go to when I am shopping for a client, but lately they’ve been releasing beyond basic pieces that I am really loving also.

Matisse creates fun, funky, and unique shoes and strives to be sustainable in their labor practices and the materials they use. I do believe Matisse is making efforts to ensure ethical practices are maintained in their factories, but I would like to see more transparency from them in the future.
What I Love…
Well, shoes! But truly, I have purchased many times from Matisse when shopping for clients who want a solid shoe with some added fun or uniqueness. They have also introduced an Eco-Friendly Edit of leather sandals.

What I Love…
PRINTS! They do such a beautiful job with prints and patterns on their garments. They also have fun statement accessories. A great brand if you still want color and fun in your sustainable wardrobe.

Laude the Label is one of the sustainable brands I have shopped the most for myself and clients. The quality is wonderful and the styles are a great mix of timeless with a little trend thrown in. Not to mention, they’re based where I live, in Fort Worth, TX.
