Holiday Shopping Guide: Unique Experiences

I endorse products I genuinely love and would gift or buy myself. If you end up making a purchase through one of the affiliate links, The Considerary may earn a commission.

What is the true key to great gift giving? LISTENING! When you think about what your loved ones have mentioned overtly, or maybe when you read between the lines, those are where great gift ideas can truly start. Paired with listening is one of my favorite ways to gift and that is Unique Experiences. An experience, a memory, can sometimes be much longer lasting, AND it is likely way more sustainable than most items you may gift. If you have someone in your life who would appreciate an experience over an item, this list is for you!

Something to keep in mind when gifting experiences: Suggesting or choosing a date. I know, that can seem difficult and possibly pushy, BUT, as someone who loves receiving experience gifts, but has a busy schedule, I often end up not using my experiential gifts unless the date is picked or the expiration date is very soon. Another option is to gift one of the below experiences as something you can do together. That should help the gift to actually happen!

Remember, if you don’t have time for your Holiday shopping this year, you can hire a The Considerary Stylist as your Holiday Personal Shopper. Shoot us an email, here, to learn more.

  1. Make them a Member

Members only, in the best way! Gift your loved one a membership to a place, club, class, and give a gift that literally keeps on giving. Check out these suggestions:

  • Botanical Garden or Arboretum

  • State or National Parks Pass

  • Art Museum

2. The Gift of STyle

If someone in your life has mentioned wishing they had someone to shop for them, help them pick out outfits, determine their personal style, then a styling experience with us at The Considerary is the right move. You can gift any of the services we offer, we’ll even send a very cute gift certificate so they have something to open Christmas morning. Head here to give the gift or style.

3. That’s the Ticket

If you know she loves T Swift and you know Tay Tay is coming to town…BINGO. Gifting tickets to an event like a concert or sporting event are a sure way to make your gift-ee smile. And while you’re at it, grab two tickets and go with them for a shared experience. Try any of these cool ticketed experiences:

4. Learn a New skill

Classes, whether in person or virtual, are a fun way to tell your loved one you hear them, see them, and know they are a lifelong learner. Gifting any of the below classes will be such a treat; especially if you can join in the fun too.

5. Subscribe them for something they’ll love

Subscription services are a lifesaver for everyday life for many folks. Of course there are subscription services for weekly meals, but there are also fun, delightful, subscriptions that perhaps someone wouldn’t normally purchase for themselves. Check these out:

6. Pamper Them

A spa day is sure to impress anyone on your list. Think about the individual: would they prefer a massage and a pedicure? Or, maybe a facial and manicure are more their speed. If you really want to sweeten the deal, offer to take something of their plate so that they can make the relaxing day happen. Offer childcare, or to take on whatever may be holding them back.

7. Gifting Adventure

One of my favorite unique experience to receive was an acrobatic class; what a unique thing I may not have ever purchased for myself. You can gift adventurous escapades for your thrill seeker, or for someone who likes to try new things. Try any of these:

  • Hot Air Balloon Ride

  • Acrobatic Class

  • Skydiving

  • Motorcycle Lessons

  • Scavenger Hunt

  • Human Hamster Ball Experience

  • A Sailing Trip

  • Helicopter Ride

  • Sports Car Drive

8. Take it off their plate

I guarantee someone on your list would love for someone to gift them “taking something off their plate”. Tasks like deep cleaning your house, closet organization, and car detailing often get put on the back burner. By not having to do it themselves, you’re giving the gift of precious time; what could be better? Try one of these out:

  • Closet/Home Organization

  • Car Detailing

  • Home Cleaning Service

  • Family Photoshoot

We hope you’ve gathered ideas and inspiration of how to gift unique experiences this Holiday season. If you need further shopping for the loved ones on your list, send us an email. We would love to alleviate any shopping stress, and gift your time back to you!

xx,
